Human chorionic gonadotropin, better known under the abbreviation HCG is a natural protein hormone that is formed in the mother cake (placenta) of a pregnant woman.

In the male, the Leydig cells are stimulated in the testes by the luteinizing hormone and stimulated to produce androgenic hormones (testosterone).

Steroids cause a negative feedback after a certain period of ingestion. There is an influence on the hypothalamic pituitary testicular axis because the hypothalamus receives a false signal which is caused by the steroids.

In bodybuilding, injectable HCG is used for increased testosterone production and is usually used in conjunction with anabolic / androgenic steroids. HCG is usually used at the end of a cure to counteract the side effects that are triggered by steroids.
Some bodybuilders occasionally use HCG during a steroid intake to counteract a testicular atrophy. Also, decreased libido and spermatogenicity caused by steroids can be successfully treated with HCG in most cases.

Application / Dosage:

Each pack contains one ampoule per HCG vial containing an injection solution consisting of isotonic sodium chloride. This liquid is sterilely injected into the HCG ampoule and mixed with the dry substance after opening both ampoules. Then the solution is ready for injection and should be injected intramuscularly promptly. If only part of the mixture is injected at once, the rest should be kept in the refrigerator. The still unmixed HCG does not necessarily have to be stored in the refrigerator. However, it should be protected from light and kept at below 25 ° C.

In a study of 1980 (Padron et al.) It was found that the administration of an HCG injection with 6000 iE increased the testosterone level of the subject for six days. Further, it was found that a dose of 1500 i.E. The plasma testosterone level increased by 250-300% (2.5-3 fold), and at a dosage of 6000 i.E. The plasma testosterone level was even increased by 300-600% (3-6 fold) versus the initial value.

Based on these observations and general experience, bodybuilding has established itself as a rule of thumb, that the athlete every 5 days 2500 – 5000 i.E. Inject. A more frequent use than every 5 days is not necessary, as the testosterone level remains elevated for about 6 days.

The intake of HCG should be limited to a maximum of 3 weeks and be concluded with a subsequent break of at least one month.
