Toremifene citrate

Toremifene citrate increases the testosterone level over the period of administration. Most bodybuilders suffer from aromatization of steroids under an elevated estrogen level at the end of their cure.

Toremifene citrate is a non-steroidal anti-estrogen. Toremifene citrate was originally patented in 1996 by the Orion Corporation in Finland for the treatment of breast cancer. In September 1999, Roberts Pharmaceutical Corporation, USA was granted the license to market the product in the US.

Toremifene citrate is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator = SERM) as well as tamoxifen citrate and clomifene citrate.

Toremifene citrate acts in some places as an agonist, as well as an antagonist on the estrogen receptor. Through this effect some estrogen pathways are blocked and others activated. One of the effects is that the LDL and total cholesterol is lowered. By reducing the estrogen in the bone the density is increased.

Toremifene citrate also activates the activation of the natural biofeedback mechanism in the brain. Activation activates the release of the body’s follicle stimulating hormones (FSH), such as glycoprotein and the luteinizing hormone (LH). LH causes women to trigger ovulation and follicular maturation.

In men the testes are stimulated by the LH and the androgen biosynthesis of the testis is regulated. Bodybuilders value this effect at the end of a steroid cure when the endogenous testosterone production is below average.

Low testosterone levels in combination with high estrogen levels increase the risk of developing gynecomastia. The use of Toremifene Citrate should counteract this.

Since toremifene citrate has a 5-fold higher androgen: estrogen ratio compared to tamoxifen citrate, it can be assumed that it can increase the testosterone level in the blood even more efficiently than tamoxifen citrate.
